Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation Workshop

Mindfulness Meditation is a mind training practice that teaches us to slow down racing our thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm both our mind and body. It combines meditation with the practice of mindfulness, which can be defined as a mental state that involves being fully focused on "the now" so you can acknowledge and accept your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment.

 

Mindfulness Meditation practices focus on the breath and the body, as a way to learn to be open the present moment, thoughts, and sensations.         A sense of calm, peace, and balance achieved through meditation can benefit our emotional well-being and overall health. The great news is that the benefits of meditation don’t end when the session ends. It can continue to bring tranquility to you throughout the day and help prevent over-reactive behaviors when the going gets rough.
